VBS...Vacation Bible School 2009

This was Jed's second summer in vacation bible school. He had a great time! As you can see in the pictures, his days were filled with singing, making crafts, playing outside, and making new friends.
Jed's favorite part of each day was learning the songs and hand motions that went along with them. He still listens to the CD. It used to be everyday and now it is maybe once a week.(thank goodness) At one point I thought Jed was going to convert to the Presbyterian religion:) Anywho-he loved it and can't wait to go next summer!

Sean came down with his parents, Krystl and Jim Downey, to visit for the weekend. Jed loves playing with Sean. Too bad they live 4 hours away! But it is always nice to see them when they come and visit San Diego.

Ian came down from Utah to spend a few weeks with the cousins. He stayed with us for most of the time. Jed loved having Ian at our house. We went swimming, to the beach, saw a couple of movies, went to dinner, and Ian showed Jed how to play his guitar. Jed thought that was so cool. I'm sure Jed got on Ian's nerves a few times..always wanting him to play games and go outside with him, but Ian was so nice and cool to Jed. We had a great time having Ian with us!

Grandma and Grandpa Borg visit California

My parents came down for a few weeks and stayed with us. Jed was so excited to have his Grandma and Grandpa stay with us. I took these pictures just before they left back to Utah.

We had a great time visiting Kelli and Franki in Phoenix. We hung out inside the air-conditioned house, I organized some closets (I'm sure Kelli was annoyed at my organizing obsession), we played outside, went shopping, ate Bajio twice (I love it), and visited the Harley Davidson Store-a highlight for Jed!

Today has been a busy, yet wonderful day! I spoke in sacrament meeting and Kathy (grandma downey) came to sacrament to hear my talk.:) Then after church I hurried home to make a chocolate cake from the "Pioneer cooking" blog. It was great but oh so fattening! You know you're in trouble when you use 2 sticks of butter for the cake and 2 more sticks for the frosting. Oops!
We had a great dinner with grilled chicken, mashed potatoes (more butter) and veggies. Grandma Downey came over for dinner and dessert.
Mike opened his presents and loved all the gifts. Jed gave him a new golf shirt with some golf balls. I, of course, gave him some new dress shirts and ties and socks. Not very exciting, but he can always use new dress shirts.
